Fascial Release Technique (FRT) in Calgary: A Whole-Body Approach to Restoring Movement, Regulation & Connection

There are moments in treatment where it becomes clear that pain is not always where the problem begins.

A shoulder that has been tight for years may soften when the ribcage is addressed. Jaw tension may shift through the pelvis. Chronic pain may persist long after tissue has healed. Sometimes the body is not asking for more force, it is asking to be listened to differently.

This understanding became the foundation for Fascial Release Therapy (FRT); a unique treatment approach Dr. Cejaye developed through years of clinical practice, movement education, Traditional Chinese Medicine, hands-on therapy, and a deep curiosity about the connective intelligence of the body.

FRT was created from the belief that healing is not simply about releasing tension; it is about restoring communication.

What Is Fascial Release Therapy (FRT)?

Fascial Release Therapy (FRT) is Dr. Cejaye’s signature treatment method, designed to work with the body’s fascial system; the interconnected web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels, and every structure of the body.

Fascia is not simply packaging.

It is a dynamic, responsive network involved in:

  • Movement and mobility

  • Structural support

  • Hydration and tissue health

  • Circulation and lymphatic flow

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Proprioception (body awareness)

  • Tension patterns and compensation

When fascia becomes restricted, dehydrated, overloaded, injured, or held in long-standing holding patterns, the effects are often felt far beyond the original area.

FRT was developed to work with these patterns; not by forcing change, but by helping the body rediscover its own capacity for movement, adaptation, and regulation.

How Does Fascial Release Therapy Work?

Unlike approaches that focus only on muscles or isolated symptoms, FRT looks at the body as an integrated system.

Treatment combines intentional touch, fascial listening, movement principles, tissue release techniques, energetic awareness, and pattern recognition to understand how different regions of the body influence one another.

Through treatment, FRT may help:

  • Restore tissue mobility

  • Improve fascial hydration

  • Reduce compensation patterns

  • Support nervous system regulation

  • Improve circulation and lymphatic movement

  • Encourage structural balance

  • Increase body awareness

  • Support healthier movement patterns

Rather than working against the body, FRT works with the body’s own intelligence.

Sometimes treatment is dynamic. Sometimes subtle.

Often the greatest shifts occur when the body feels safe enough to reorganize.

What Makes FRT Different From Traditional Fascial Release?

Many fascial approaches focus primarily on breaking adhesions or creating mechanical change.

FRT was designed differently. This work recognizes that fascia is not only structural; it is energetically responsive.

It adapts to:

  • Stress

  • Injury

  • Emotions

  • Habitual movement

  • Breath patterns

  • Environment

  • Nervous system state

Because of this, treatment is designed to address not only physical restriction but also the relationship between structure, function, and regulation.

Sessions often integrate principles influenced by:

  • Fascial science

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine

  • Acupuncture theory

  • Somatic awareness

  • Movement therapy

  • Nervous system support

  • Energetic connection

The goal is not simply to create more flexibility. The goal is to help the body feel more available to itself.

  • More connected

  • More spacious

  • More grounded

  • More aligned

FRT Beyond Treatment: A New Way of Understanding the Body

One of the most meaningful parts of developing Fascial Release Therapy has been witnessing how profoundly people reconnect with themselves through their bodies.

Over time, this work has evolved into more than a treatment. It has become a language for understanding how structure, movement, energy, and awareness interact.

And because of that; I’m excited to share that the first Fascial Release Therapy (FRT) course will be launching this fall.

This training is being created for practitioners and curious learners who want to deepen their understanding of fascia, learn the principles behind FRT, and explore a more integrated approach to working with the body.

More details will be released soon.

Fascial Release Therapy in Calgary: Supporting the Body From the Inside Out

In my Calgary practice, FRT is offered as a personalized experience designed to meet your body where it is.

Whether your goal is pain relief, improved mobility, nervous system support, fascial health, recovery, or deeper connection with your body, treatment is guided by listening before intervention.

Because healing is rarely about forcing change. More often, it begins by creating the conditions for the body to remember how to move, communicate, and come home to itself.
